I've been in love with the band Sigur Ros for many years now, but this song that's been getting some attention lately because it's featured in the new Disney Earth previews, is truely something magical. It literally was made to be in a movie, it just has that powerful, wrap you up in a moment and make you feel like you're on top of the world feeling...I love it...Not to mention the video is so strangely adorable, odd and uplifting all at the same time. This song never fails to bring a smile to my face no matter what's happening at that moment. Take a look:

My name is Sarah and I'm obsessed with American Idol...
Whew! There I said it.....I never thought I'd say that, but it's true. Me, one of the biggest anti-reality show people ever put on this earth can't seem to get enough of this silly show.
I started getting into it last year when I fell in love with David Cook's music and enjoyed David Archuleta's wonderful voice, but I never really made it a priority to watch until the finale. I told myself, it's ok, you're just curious to see who wins. But then I found myself counting down to the new AI starting this winter....why why why, I told my self I'd never be into one of these stupid shows on a regular basis.
Well 3 months into this year's AI and I find myself sometimes watching this show before I get to my Tivo-ed LOST!!! They've got me hooked I say!
Now here's a few reasons why I've gone crazy for this show or maybe it's my list of excuses but who cares, (yeah I'm 7 seasons late on this, whatever people):
1) It's like a train wreck in the beginning of the season, yes everybody says this but it's really true. What makes the majority of these people come out in droves to perform in front of judges when they are just crazy awful will always boggle my mind, what's worse is the ones who genuinely think they are born superstars and are literally crushed (or sent into hysterics/rants and obscenities) when they are told the truth by the judges, it's hilarious and disturbing at the same time.
2) But once you wad through all the disasters a glimmer of hope will always pop up when you actually find some amazingly talented and likable people and then you find yourself rooting for them with passion. They are just regular (hardworking) people who just want a break, and I love that. I love watching the transformation of the individuals and as a huge all around music fan, I guess it's not so insane I've finally been sucked into this show. So that's my story and I know I'm not alone, haha!
So on to this season, which is season 8: Here's who I loooooove:
Adam Lambert: Brilliant, amazing, powerful voice with so much versatility; he can be rock, punk, R&B pop, electronic....seriously glam rock all the way, he's dialing into the 80s glam rock like nobody's business. And his youtube videos speak for themselves. He has a theater background from performing in Wicked, but I think it works to his advantage big time, just my opinion. See one crazy (literally in the song sense) youtube video here, I know it's a bit raunchy and out there (which is the essence of Adam) but come on he can belt it out!
And another just simply audio from an AI performance:
Matt Girard: Soulful, beautiful voice. He's also very versatile and has this emotion behind his music that I can't get enough of, it grabs me every time. He's like a cross between Michael Buble, Justin Timberlake and Ray Charles... yeah, crazy I know! Take a look at one song he did I really liked:
Allision Iraheta: Only 16 yrs old and an absolutely mesmerizing voice. She had me at "Alone" by Heart. The girl's got pipes and she isn't afraid to use them. She apparently reminds the judges of Kelly Clarkson, she reminds me of a less angry Pink. Love her and here's why:
Ok, more to come on my silly new addiction later.
As for last night Matt almost got booted but the judges saved him!!! Thank you!! Now get out and vote for Matt people, he apparently needs the support.

Escapism
I set up this blog specifically as a way to take a break from all the political dribble once in a while, take a deep breath and talk about nonsense, absolute pure unimportant nonsense: television, music, movies and random lifestyle entertainment.
It's a passion of mine in the sense that I love the art of it, by art I mean writing and pure entertainment purposes. Yes it can be hard to find quality TV and movies these days, so I'll do my best to find some to talk about, drone about and throw my two-sense in about. People might not care, and I might just end up talking to myself, but that's perfectly ok with me. Even though many think there's nothing of quality left on TV I beg to differ, television has changed, no doubt, for the good and definitely for the bad in some cases (see all reality tv) but it's still fun to disappear into it sometimes and forget all the real struggles of life, and everyone can use a good laugh, or a good thought provoking cry.
So that's what this blog will be about, enjoy.
